About Us

The IVES/RYAN GROUP, INC. (I/RG) was established in
1973 for the purpose of providing design consulting
services to both the public and private sectors. I/RG
maintains a staff of registered professionals who
specialize in land planning, zoning, landscape
architecture, golf course architecture, park & recreation
design, and community planning. The Ives/Ryan Group
has participated on projects in 20 states to date.

I/RG is headed by John M. Ryan, RLA, who serves as
Corporate President. Mr. Ryan, a founder of the original
company, administers the firm's landscape architecture
department. Mr. Ryan's career includes 43 years of
experience in landscape architecture and land planning
in twelve states, as well as teaching, public speaking
and garden study in Europe.

IRG has responded to the growing interest in
"Sustainable Site & Landscape Design" by incorporating
green development techniques on numerous projects,
including the storm-water management techniques of
natural detention basins (native bank shorelines &
aquatic shelves); constructed wetlands, bio-swales,
bio-infiltration cells & rain gardens; native prairies and
savannas; non-potable or low water usage irrigation
systems & rooftop gardens. IRG's "Best Management
Practices" designs have contributed to both LEED and
CHICAGO GREEN HOMES Certifications.

I/RG has an established reputation for providing
creative design concepts which are realistic, functional
and budget sensitive. Our company is committed to
providing timely services, professional integrity and
strong client and design team interaction. The Ives/Ryan
Group has been recognized for design excellence,
having received 47 national, state, & local awards
